Unveiling Our Illuminated Selves
In a dark, quiet room, a little candle sat sadly, feeling helpless in the darkness and shadows that surrounded him. He longed to be somewhere bright and to be able to experience the light. A kind-hearted girl heard his call and agreed to take him to a brighter place.
So here the little candle was, standing in a grand, illuminated hall and being washed in the shining light. He was overwhelmed, and he gazed around in awe at all the spectacular chandeliers and wall lamps that were more beautiful than the last. His eyes were soon drawn to a desk lamp, tall and slender with a charming design. It fit perfectly with the room's grandeur, and the little candle couldn't help but look at it with admiration.
“Hi friend,” he said. “How lucky you are to be a light in such a bright place!”
“Me, a light?” the lamp replied arrogantly. “You are mistaken. I am an important part of an expensive collection.”
The little candle was taken aback by this and wondered how the lamp didn't know he was a light. But then he realized that, in such a busy and bright place, the lamp couldn't tell if he was giving off light or not.
Soon after, the little candle was taken back to the dark room, and he lit up the area, instantly filling it with dancing shadows and shimmering light. His tiny heart filled with joy as he thought, "I never knew darkness could be good too. Without it, I wouldn't have known that I am a light."
